amfAR at Cannes: Not Best Dressed

Michelle Rodriguez, your face is basically saying how I feel about your look, except I feel like you are daring me to judge you. You don't scare me! Not from here at least. This is the epitome of the Barbie trend gone wrong. She could not look more uncomfortable.

 Contrary to what you are thinking, Tamara Ecclestone is not a cast member of My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding.  She is actually a 27-year-old billionairess and her little sister is the chick who took over the throne at the former Spelling Manor in Bel Air.  For the record, I feel the same way about silver shoes with silver dresses as I do about red shoes with red dresses. Pageant patrol!

 I think Tara Reid slept her way into some kind of lifetime membership at Cannes club that Phoebe Price and Victoria Silvstedt founded.  She found the perfect Keep Your Heart Open necklace on loan from Kay's to draw attention away from her mother of the bride dress and up to her face to show off Snooki's new bronzer line.

I hope you didn't have a burrito for lunch like I did and you can freely enjoy these perfect people in perfect dresses without remorse.  They are all at the amfAR even in Cannes because that is exactly where beautiful people belong.  Nina Dobrev in extremely popular designer du jour Elie Saab.

Red Carpet: AI Finale, Cannes, MIB Premiere

Happy Carrie Underwood concert ticket sales day! I'll be in the audience when she takes over Staples Center in October.  Last night at the American Idol finale Carrie wowed in an extremely short Badgley Mischka Orion Sequin Orbit sheath, which runs about a thousand bucks retail or you can borrow from RTR for $125 (they also have a sleeveless version). I haven't found any stores carrying it right now. Her sparkly foot candy is Jimmy Choo.

 I'm going to go ahead and say that Carrie's legs look even buffer than professional dancer Julianne Hough's envious gams. Carrie is legit an athlete and a workout machine!

Jordin Sparks donned some extremely long extensions for the AI finale. She attended with boyfriend Jason Derulo in a white scalloped Kevin Hall dress.

 Still lovely, but my least favorite look thus far from Diane Kruger at Cannes in Prabal Gurung. Her hotel room must be an absolute post-pillow fight style sea of feathers.

Milla Jovovich looked fabulous in a gold sequin Prada dress.

Heidi Klum returned to supermodel status in a shimmering Roberto Cavalli.

Cannes 2012: Stewart, Dunst, Kruger

Kiki wore a hot pink Dior gown with black accessories to the premiere of On the Road in Cannes. She looks awesome in this, but it is always surprising to see her eliminate all the quirky from her looks...it's just not her.  But these colors work on her so well (remember her best mag cover ever?), not to mention that DREAMBOAT standing next to her.

 Kristen went with big hair and a high thigh slit in Balenciaga. The color is a little drab, but overall I think this works for her. If I saw her in Kiki's dress, I'd really fall over flat.

Diane Kruger has been standing out in a sea of pretty as the fairest one of all throughout Cannes 2012. Her white Nina Ricci dress and black lace and sheer purple Jason Wu dress were maximum attention-grabbers.

 Love Kristen Stewart's Balenciaga trousers! She did right by pairing them with a simple top and Rebecca Minkoff blazer. Of course, this is a little casual for Cannes, but I love those pants on her!  Kirsten Dunst turned up in a lovely laser-cut Dolce and Gabbana dress with Charlotte Olympia heels. Has she ever looked more like her namesake American Girl doll that with this hair?

Red Carpet Potpourri: Stam, NicRic, Underwood, Sparks

Nicole Richie wore a Emilio Pucci mullet dress to the Fifi Awards. Long sleeve dresses are quite the trend right now! When I first saw this I thought, "She's preggo again!" but then I remembered she had a boob job. 

 Michelle Monaghan wore a slinky cut out navy Halston maxi dress. Do you like?

Mariska Hargitay took a night off from all her babies to attend the Fifi Awards. She is on board for another season of Law and Order: SVU, something I thought may not happen with the loss of Stabler and after adopting 2 babies within the past year. Glad she is able to make it work for us fans!

  Jessica Stam in Marchesa. I can't say I understand her hair color choice right now, but she looks amazing in anything she wears.

Celeb Potpourri: Vancamp, Dobrev, Robb, Kruger, Michele

Emily Vancamp wore a L'Agence dress that fit her like a second skin. Her hair is finally transitioning out of the yellow phase into a more natural blonde which I love.

 Ginnifer Goodwin in Preen. I am really hoping she will get over this uber-short hairstyle soon.

 This is one of Kerry Washington's less dynamic looks, but she is still completely classy and elegant in Michael Kors.

I feel like Carrie Underwood would wear a slightly altered version of this outfit on stage. Wish the sleeves weren't cropped on this sequined Zadig and Voltaire blazer Lea Michele wore en route to Letterman.

Red Carpet Moments: Theron, Roberts, Simpson, Snow

 A couple more photos from Cannes that require discussion. Cheryl Cole, whose style I adore, wore a striking Stephane Rolland dress with feathered train. It seems feathers are the new exposed back.  Diane Kruger is a metallic goddess in Vivienne Westwood. Phenomenal.

 Kim Kardashian wore Emilio Pucci to promote her perfume in London. Her makeup is uncharacteristically  light...and by light I mean her eyes, lips, and mouth don't have a lot of color on them. I know she is still wearing a ton of makeup. She also looks like she ditched her extensions for once, but I can't really be sure.  Do you prefer her like this?  KStew did press in Mexico in Vivienne Westwood slacks, a Mario Schwab blouse, and Loub Bis Un Bout pumps. These heels are made from PVC and are undoubtedly one of the most coveted pairs of heels right now. Beyonce, LaLa, Alicia Keys, and Rihanna have all stepped out in them.

 Charlize Theron continues her promo tour in a leather dress by The Row. I was actually very surprised to read that she is 36...I think because of her height and how long she's been around she was older than that.

Out and About: Kardashians, LC, Reese, Taylor, Hilary

The Kardashian family returned to tv last night with a new season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. While I know it is still scripted reality, I imagine the producers have their hands full addressing the perpetual issues that pop up within their family in the media.  Kris, Lamar, Khloe, Kylie, and Kendall all attended a party hosted by Kylie's boyfriend Cody Simpson in Los Angeles. Kim is over in London working and spending time with Kanye.  In other news, their home from the first few seasons of the show was purchased and demolished, with many of the pieces going to Habitat for Humanity...including their toilets.

Moms in colorful jeans! Hilary Duff heads out with her husband and baby Luca for time with friends. January Jones strolls with her pooch and son around her Silver Lake neighborhood. 

Expectant parents Kristin Cavallari and Kourtney Kardashian run errands in Los Angeles. Kourtney was at the Farmer's Market picking up groceries with son Mason.

Reese Witherspoon cheered on son Deacon at his softball game in Brentwood.  He sure looks like his daddy.

Lauren Conrad, wearing some extremely long extensions, went to brunch with her roommate and boyfriend, USC law student William Tell. Vanessa Hudgens and boyfriend Austin Butler teamed up for a workout at Crunch in West Hollywood.

Taylor Swift grabs an iced coffee at the Farm in Brentwood. Her style seems to be on the upward swing this year and I love it.
