DON's Deal: Easter Weekend

Happy Easter to you all! I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your friends and family. Cholula is spending it with my parents and Tamale will be over at her friend Jack Sparrow's house.
Last night Tally wouldn't leave me alone while I was working so I pulled up a chair for her to sit next to me. I got up to change the channel handle an important call and she claimed two seats. I added a third. I got up to refill my wine glass send a work email and she claimed all three. Seat hog! Also, can you see that mat with broccoli on it? I have it there because Tamale will often return to her orphan street dog roots and take food out of her bowl to enjoy in this location outside of the kitchen...because I make take it and cook with it?? She be cray cray. Broccoli is always part of her dinner, but she wasn't in the mood to finish I guess. Spoiled rotten, I know.

Big House Bound: Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes, 26, was arrested early this morning for drunk driving after a night out in West Hollywood. She attempted to pass a cop car and ended up side swiping him - a sure bet you'll wake up in the drunk tank. Homegirl needs a career jump start and a hair stylist stat.

Elie Saab Dinner Party: Emily, Dakota, Annaleigh

Elie Saab is one of my favorite high fashion designers and here's three more reasons why. At a party for the brand in NYC, Analeigh Tipton, Dakota Fanning, and Emily Blunt all turned up in the line.  Analeigh, 23, was stunning in a red suit with a black lace bodysuit. She is almost unrecognizable as both the girl from American's Next Top Model and the babysitter in love with Steve Carell in Crazy Stupid Love.
Dakota likes to stay pretty prim and proper. This peplum dress with lace detail fits the bill. That high lace neckline would really aggravate my skin though.
Emily wears Elie Saab probably more than any other designer. While yellow is probably not the best color for her complexion, she looks fantastic with her bright red lips and darker hair. I would love to wear this dress, probably with some out of this world platforms!
Yesterday I was randomly wondering how she went from Michael Buble to John Krasinski. You all know I don't care for Ellen, but John is just too adorable to dismiss.

Celeb Potpourri: LC, Katie, Ashlee, NicRic, JLo

I have something really surprising to share with you guys...Jennifer Love Hewitt wore Herve Leger to the premiere of The Client List! I mean, we've never, ever seen her in a bandage dress before, right? Also, what kind of publicist allows you to wear ten pounds of hair extensions, extreme eye makeup, and a low-cut skin tight dress to the launch of a show where you play a prostitute? I mean, come on.
Also, this is all over LA and maybe I'm getting to be an old prude, but it seems unnecessarily graphic for bus stops next to elementary schools and what not. How about something a little more wholesome now? Katherine Heigl heads to lunch with her mom in Los Angeles.
Jessica Alba is getting back to the movie business, filming A.C.O.D. about the dysfunctional kids of divorced parents who were in a study growing up. She's been sporting a fake rose tattoo around LA that looks pretty real. In her down time, she grabbed treats with Honor at Coffee Bean. Brad Goreski would be proud of her pops of color: Ralph Lauren cross body bag and rainbowed Salvatore Ferragamo flats. And there's that extreme hair flip again!  She kept it super casual while grocery shopping with baby Haven.
Jennifer Lopez is seriously dressing better than ever! She wore a Gucci bodysuit and pants on Idol with some hot, hot, hot Giuseppe Zanotti heels that aren't out  yet.
Katie Holmes heads to dance class in Hollywood. Homegirl loves to dance...an escape perhaps? Ashlee Simpson is back in LA and taking business meetings. Not quite how I look at work, but she's got the hipster image down pat.
Lauren had another stop on her book tour last night where she wore a Heartloom Anthea dress ($227) with her Casadei heels. Another great dress for Spring events for your closet!
Off to another interview, Lauren wore Tibi's printed eyelet top ($275) and a Paper Crown skirt. Dianna Agron enjoys some time off from Glee prom filming to hit the shops on Robertson.
Nicole Richie was unstoppable at a concert celebrating her dad. She designed this dress for her Winter Kate line and it's stunning on her!

Lauren Conrad Begins Book Tour

So much Lauren and Carrie! Now where's Kate Beckinsale when I need her? LC began her book tour wearing a sweet Lela Rose dress with Casadei heels. While on her tour she has talked about her love life a bit; she has been single for about a year, minus the brief fling with Derek Hough. She says it's hard in LA, but is really happily consumed with work right now claiming, "It's funny. I'm my happiest when I'm really busy. I love feeling like I need one more hour of sleep, or when I'm running around frazzled!" I legit just had a conversation en route to dropping a friend at the airport this morning about how I think I need to sleep less to accomplish more and buzz through my projects. Interesting. I can't say I'd enjoy a self-imposed state of "frazzled", but a little less sleep is in my future.

I love her Paul and Joe coat, but am really loving her locks. She is way less ombre now and I think this color really suits her. Also coveting her vintage shades.
After the jump, her Glamour photos that I hope are not a test run for her signature pose.

Workin' It Out: Duff, Cyrus, Kardashian

Hilary Duff shared a photo of her son Luca, two weeks old. She got back to working out on Saturday with 20 minutes on the elliptical which she said were brutal, and today she headed to her ritual pilates class. She's showing up Alba as fastest back in the gym I think!
Kim Kardashian loaded up on some Wendy's at the airport before flying home from a trip to the Dominican Republic with her sisters. Today she was back in the gym punishing herself. I know I'm preaching fringe, but that bag is FUG CENTRAL, even if it is Chanel. Maybe that is why is it relegated to gym bag status?
Tiny Miley Cyrus takes her puppy out for some exercise near her home in the Valley. I finally made it back to the gym this morning. Not being cold, rainy, and cloudy out is slightly more motivating, but I really wish I would learn to love it like most people.

Carrie Underwood for Vegas Magazine

We saw the cover of Vegas magazine on Twitter, but here is the full spread. Something I really dig about this magazine is that everything celebs wear in the photo shoots are currently available in stores. I love Carrie in purple and think pairing it with the pop of yellow shoes is clever; this dress is a Theia laser cut petal dress. Her heels are Christian Siriano for Payless (sold out in yellow, but here's the red).
This orange and lilac Nanette Lepore dress looked so much less cute on the rack, see? Carrie really brings it to life. If the colors pop the way they do on her, this is a great wedding guest dress option! Also there is little I like less in life than having my picture taken (we have plenty of Christmas photos of me glowering at the camera to prove this), but I think maybe I just need a signature pose. This is Carrie's.

My future Christmas card, just like this. My family can stand behind me. I'll need a wind machine.

Anyway, back to this photoshoot...this mint silk chiffon shoulder tie Tory Burch dress is perfect for spring and summer! Love the pink and gold accessories with it. I can't seem to find this in any store or on Tory's website, but I know it is from her Spring 2012 RTW collection and supposedly retails at $995. Gorgeous!
In Versace with some fringed Jimmy Choo heels. Obviously, we all need some fringed heels. I feel like they are everwhere and my Minnetonkas probably won't cut the mustard.
Is it just me or is Dolce and Gabbana just killing it lately? I used to think of them as so gaudy but everything they've put out recently has been bold but ladylike.
In this story, she talks about how Mike can't travel with her on tour, saying "We see each other as much as we can, but he's not one for road life. He can't really sleep on the bus. You can't have a giant bed in the back, so I'm like, 'You're touching me! Go away. What are you doing? Scoot over!' He gets bored. I think if he ever comes out with us on tour for any length of time, I'm going to have to find him something to do!" At first I laughed that she shared this, but fact is I can't stand being touched while I sleep either. My friends like to "pick me" to share the bed on vacations and have nicknamed me the knife because I sleep so straight on the edge of the bed. Twinsies!

ACM 2012 Fashion: Nettles, Scott, Swift, Clarkson, Rimes

Woof there was a lot of bad looks at last night's ACM Awards as well.  I know that country stars do not necessarily abide by the same rules as Hollywood (with the exception of major crossover stars like Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift) so you tell me if these are working for you.
My favorite dress of the night, yes including Underwood, was Jennifer Nettles in Max Azria. She worked the neon trend, showed off her hot bod, and looked poised and elegant all at once.
I did like Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott, working the collar trend. The shoes, however, are utterly heinous.
Taylor Swift in one of my favorite designers, J.Mendel. Perhaps one of the only times I have seen her looking grown up and dare I say sexy. Well done.
Hillary Scott found a fabulous dress for her curvy figure. Emilio Pucci wrap dress with soft waves and big jewels is excellent.
WE INTERUPT THIS FASHION POST FOR TIM AND KENNY. One of these things looks sexier than ever, another looks trapped in the 90s. Both of these are stage shtick, but one is ready for a revamp.
Now back to the fashion...the bad stuff after the jump...

Lauren Conrad Preps for New Book Launch

Hooray Lauren Conrad is on a press tour again! Have you pre-ordered your copy of The Fame Game, releasing tomorrow? I have! This book is an extension of her first triology, now following the obnoxious social climber Madison in pursuit of Hollywood royalty status. Perfect beachy read now that the sun has FINALLY found her way to SoCal.
Interesting how for the "swimsuit issue" of Glamour we get a topless LC on the cover. She discusses how she is too self-conscious to wear a bikini in LA because of the paparazzi. You know, just like Heidi and Audrina.

Lauren hopped a flight in a Rag and Bone sweater to NY where she made an appearance on Wendy Williams. Glam, gorgeous hair! She has already had the launch party for the book (where Hills alumni Stephen and Dieter were present...but not Lo, hmm) and recently attended Stephanie Pratt's bachelorette party!
On Saturday I made a trip out to Kohl's (let me tell you, it is not around the corner) specifically to check out some of her affordable little sundresses. I was so disappointed in the material and quality of the pieces - really cheap and unattractive, which just shows how great they photoshop her ads because she looks fantastic in them! Dejected, I popped into Forever 21 next door, which has an abundance of great spring dresses! Tons and tons of awesome finds in great colors. I may have picked up my first yellow dress. Here's hoping I don't look like I have scurvy in it!

Kids Choice Awards 2012 Fashion: Tisdale, Stewart, Hyland, Stone

At the Kids' Choice Awards, there was loads upon loads of bad fashion choices!  The usually conservative and elegant Selena Gomez messed up a skirt I was obsessed with. Blue eyeshadow, blush heels, and a crop-top do not do justice to this metallic Dolce and Gabbana skirt I fell for after Megan Fox wore it on The Tonight Show. Bummed. Taylor Swift looked elegant in Maria Lucia Hohan, but this was the perfect night for her to be a little more rock star.
Good Lord, if Emma Stone were any more beige she'd be invisible! Her hair is so light and her freckles are totally hidden...I am really missing the red hair! She wore Antonio Berardi while promoting Spiderman with her boyfriend.
I really don't get Kelly Osbourne. I think I need to demand her job at Fashion Police. Why is this the night you chose to wear a conservative, feminine, pretty black dress? Why do you pair it with hot pink heels, taking it from elegant to a little bourgie? End this hair already!  Heidi Klum also remains on my color me confused list. This looks like an ad for St. John's, not a spring time children's bash. It's by Roland Mouret btw and is beautiful, just totally wrong for the occasion.
Why Victoria Justice why? Like Selena, you are almost always on my best dressed Hollywood babies list. A short suit on the red carpet?! Even if it is Elizabeth and James, this is a stodgy fail.  I will actually stamp my approval on Katy Perry solely because everybody else has lost the spirit of this event and I like this hair way better than her blue bob.
Miranda Cosgrove in Porter Grey (yawn), KStew in Stella McCartney (the hair, the matching shoes, the pose NO...the dress is great).
Finally a winner! I love Sarah Hyland's Myne dress. It is youthful, colorful, and pretty. Experimental? No, but at least it is breathing some life into this group.  Ashley Tisdale wore Kymerah. Yep, that's the design house I just mentioned in my Carrie Underwood post. Launched in 2011, it is now starting to pop up all over the place. Hard to see her shoes, but they are the fringey Cassiane heels by B Brian Atwood and I love them. Fringe is everywhere!!!
