Grey and silver were all over the red carpet at the Emmys with some pretty disappointing results. Anna Chlumsky had the best grey dress in Christian Siriano, with delicate lace detailing. But those shoes...gag.
On the opposite end, Christian Siriano also dressed Christina Hendricks, who wore a light sliver sweetheart gown with a thick, trenchcoat style belt. The fabric, the cut, the belt...this does not work at all.
Disapproving look from yourself is as harsh as it gets.
I finally started watching FNL, so I'm a fan of Connie Britton. Her Andrew Gn dress is pretty whatever, but her hair is especially unflattering. This whole look is very 40+ beauty pageant.
This J.Mendel dress on Emily Vancamp is so beautifully cut, but in such an incredibly drab color. What a missed opportunity for what could have been the best dress of the night.
Oh boy. Kate Mara's hair stylist feels the same way towards her as Kaley Cuoco's makeup artist does to her. Who else would say: "OMG, it will be awesome. I'll slick her hair back with a faux wet look, then pull it into a wavy pony tail that starts just above one ear. So unexpected." Unexpected is right. Her dress, which is a greyish lavender, is by Badgley Mischka.
Lucy Liu took a break from her beloved Posen and wore a sequined column-style Versace (she switched favorite designers with January Jones for the night).
One of the few who opted for a spray tan, Sarah Hyland's Marchesa comes off more junior bridesmaid than anything to me. Again, a missed opportunity in this blah color.

Christina Hendricks is so gorgeous, I hate that she can't find a person that can dress her. It's like no one can figure out how to dress someone with some t & a, it's a shame really. maybe she should just get the costume designer from Mad Men to dress her and figure out the hair and makeup. If there is anyone on Earth that could rock some beautiful kelly green dress, it's her. Call me Christina...
i wish emily vancamp's dress was a jewel tone. then it would have been perfect.
