Potpourri: Olsens, Palermo, Howard, RiRi

Love. Olivia Palermo, fashion inspiration and mega B, with Brad Goreski, sassafras in pink pants.  She could totes be the Taylor to his Brad.
Mary Kate Olsen legit looks like a vampire. Ashley Olsen loves it.
This is kind of a lot of attention you're after...
...but it's way better than this kind of attention. Please pray for Lilo with me. Someday her millions and millions will stop going toward hair one million times less pretty than her natural hair, dresses shirts that look like used handkerchiefs, fake friends, lecherous family members, and all kinds of bad habits.  Please, please don't become a tragic headline.
So very happy the Ronald McDonald red is gone. That is a serious Dick Tracy blazer though.
Zooey Deschanel...is her quirk genuine? Do we like?
Jennifer, please leave your extensions out, your hair looks way better like this. In fact, whoever bought you these jeans is your new bestie. Take them out for a pedicure and a flavored lemonade.
Pretty Brit Brit! I missed you! Here's Britney heading out to dinner tonight in London with her boyfriend.

Sister Sister: Kardashian, Simpson

Jessica Simpson has kept such a low profile this summer, popping up here and there with her fiance, mostly going out to eat or occasionally shopping. She claims her wedding is this year, but still no word on when. Ashlee Simpson went public with her boyfriend Vincent Piazza at his Boardwalk Empire premiere party. She looks fantastic, no?
Back in LA last night the sisters met up at Bru Haus in Santa Monica to celebrate Eric's birthday. It's a really non-fussy, 100 person bar so I'm curious as to whether they rented the whole thing out or just mingled with the common folk.
Kim and Kourtney Kardashian went to a concert last night with their significant others.  It's still really hard to believe Kim is married and will be interesting to see how their relationship plays out on their new show since he hasn't fit in with the family very well thus far.
Meanwhile the most fun girls in the family, Khloe and her mini-me Kylie spent some time shopping together. Khloe seems to have the tighest relationship with her younger siblings.

A Mischa Moment

"I'm telling you, there aren't enough women wearing belt/suspender combos. It's like the mini-backpack, where did those go, I loved those?"

Fall Fashion: Celeb Inspiration Pieces

My Fall Favorites! I'm completely fashion obsessed right now and am always on the look out for my favorite new style trends. I know I've said this before, but I'm not a shopper who likes to browse: I come up with an outfit in my head and then go hunting! Here's what I'm after right now.

1. Structured blazers. My new pink blazer from Zara is really making the rounds and I'm in need of more interesting cuts and colors. I love Sophia Bush's Rebecca Minkoff jacket and Rachel Bilson is a devotee of Vanessa Bruno's cropped coats with serious shoulders. The black I'd wear over a cherry red dress with snakeskin or black metallic accessories. Love!
 2. Sequined cardigans. Take that comfy cover-up and give it some umph with a metallic sheen. Works awesome with basics and with my next favorite find.

Herve Leger Runway Show: Ashlee, LeAnn, Katie, Jessica

Wow. Ashlee Simpson demonstrates the right way to do Herve Leger, something most stars need a lesson in because, quite frankly, the dresses are overplayed and obvious. LeAnn Rimes was doing so well, now we're back here to inappropriate-land.
Ooh, the two former Gossip Girls arrived in really similar looks from the collection. Who wore it better?

Butter Premiere: Wilde, Garner, Greene, Silverstone

Jennifer Garner looks lovely in a pale pink Valentino, while Olivia Wilde goes for the goddess vibe in Marchesa. Must be really hard to dress when you'll be photographed next to a group of pretty ladies.
Alicia Silverstone picked a nice Proenza Schouler dress that is pretty, but I'm not convinced it was the best look for her. Ashley Greene looks lovely in Oscar de la Renta. Very pulled together and pretty, but not overly stuffy as she sometimes comes off.

You Ate a Whole Wheel of Cheese?

Many people tell me Tamale looks like Benji, but I think her movie counterpart is Baxter from Anchorman. Even though she was listed as a Cairn Terrier mix, I'm thinking she looks a lot more like a red Border Terrier.
I also enjoy screaming in her face about how much I love her.

Pretty People at Marchesa: Bar, Michelle, Emma, Molly

Someday I will wear Marchesa and I that day I will feel the prettiest I've ever felt. Until then, let's look at pretty people in pretty dresses at the pretty Marchesa show! Bar Rafaeli always looks like she's having fun. Let's face it, it's probably true since she seems to spend every other week yachting somewhere fabulous and is about the prettiest person on the planet.  The only other person who could look this awesome in this Marchesa mini is her rival, Blake Lively, who was noticeably absent from one of her favorite shows.
My thisclose to favorite Marchesa dress was this one on Emma Roberts. Gorgeous, no?
Love this soft yellow dress on Michelle Monaghan from their Resort collection. Heavy metals for Molly Sims.
Kelly Osbourne kept her dress under wraps while Michelle Trachtenberg rocked a navy number.

Poppin' collar...bones with Rachel Zoe. She's usually all covered up to avoid this sort of thing.

DON's Deal: Sisterly Love

I took a photo of this photo the last time I was home and forgot to share it with you. It so perfectly encapsulates my childhood and what we were about.  Jordan, Jennie, and I were no doubt working on a dance routine on one of the only lawns on the street at the time.  We spent every free minute outdoors. That's my unfinished house behind us, which means this was elementary school years. But clearly the best part of this photo is le bebe, Cameron, drinking water out of a sprinkler in front. It's seriously the best candid photo of us ever.

Tamale and Cholula Update

It's been one week since I adopted Tamale and she is fitting in very well with our little family. She was spayed last Friday and seems to be starting to feel like herself again today, despite a 14 day sentence in her e-collar. Here's a few iPhone shots of my girls. Cholula mashed herself into Tamale's crate. I don't know why they did this, but it made me laugh and I love that they want to be together.

Celeb Moms on the Move: Beckham, Alba, Kardashian, Garner

The Queen of Scarves ran errands around Santa Monica yesterday. Kourtney Kardashian is officially off my style list with this fug mess that she wore to fashion week. I think so much time with her crazy makeup artist is wearing off on her.
Jennifer Garner brings her pretty in pink out to an event in Hollywood. Victoria Beckham loves to design for herself and the new mom created lots of roomy pieces for her new collection, including this number she is wearing.
Hilary Duff runs errands in LA while Kate Hudson is endlessly adorable in ponchos. I don't know how, but she makes me want a poncho every time she wears one. This one is Fair Isle and would be great for new moms or travelers this winter.

Fashion Post: Pretty/Ridiculous

There's been a lot of pretty and a lot of ridiculous in the fashion out and about surrounding NYFW.  This start with the most surprising - I have some really nice things to say about LeAnn Rimes' outfit.  She looks really pretty and *keyword* appropriately covered up at Monique Lhuillier. She also looks great in wide leg Gant trousers, but the shirt needs to not look like somebody just assaulted her.
Mixing high and low is a good thing, but not in the case of Ashley Tisdale. This t-shirt and peek-a-boo midi skirt are a fail. Winning would be Katie Cassidy pulling off a spectacular shade of brunette. Gotta say she really looks good as both a blonde and a brunette, the lucky B.
Solange really bums me out. I feel like she knows she can't compare to her sister so she's going to go the polar opposite direction and look crazy as hell. Beyonce, of course, is ridiculously gorgeous as an expectant mom.  AnnaLynne McCord has the making of a really great night with hair, makeup and those hot slacks, but this top is the ever-present reminder that she's no lady.
Pretty people together! Rose Byrne is always so glam, I heart her so. And of course the newly single Alexander Skarsgard is a great arm piece for her. Sarah Jessica Parker is lovely in Antonio Berardi and Christina Hendricks is a mess in Vivienne Westwood. Like Sofia Vergara, there is such a fine line for her between voluptuous, curvy, feminine fabulousness and boobage explosion.
Remember Alexis Bledel? Girl needs a job stat, she's a decent actress and so pretty.  She looks great in this color. How to wear a suit, by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Burberry.
Emma Roberts in a Tibi dress I insist somebody go buy right now. This is stunning! I do not wear strapless or I'd be all over this immediately. Ugh, I even have the perfect accessories for it!  Jamie Lynn Sigler has naughty hair, but her Luca Luca dress is equally adorable. Hot pink, girls, it's here and you need some!
I know this is going to sound legit nuts, but I'm so proud of the woman Mandy Moore has grown up to be. She went from queso pop star (one more flashback here) to this really pretty, smart, substantial person. Her album, Coverage, has been well-played on my iPod. ANYWAY, where were we? Doesn't she look like a younger Mary Louise Parker in Lela Rose? And gorgeous in Monique Lhuillier with red heels. Love it!
I am full-on obsessed with red dresses this season. Cherry, fire-engine red dresses. Love Frieda Pinto in this Sanchita Ajjampur cocktail dress in Toronto.  And let's round this out with some quirky Leighton Meester in LV.
