DON's Deal: Magic Castle Recap and Storing Nail Polish

Hello dolls!

The Magic Castle was so freaking fun, I had the best time! No photos are allowed inside so I can't share what I saw, but imagine the entrance to Haunted Mansion from Disneyland and you're on the right track. To enter, you walk up to a bookshelf and say "Abracadabra," at which point it swings open to let you in. You can wander up and down staircases, through parlors and bars, and find magic shows in various rooms which are first come first serve.  As soon we were lined up for the first show, extremely stiff cocktails in hand, I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to find Jenna Fisher (The Office) asking if this show really was all full. We chatted briefly and she looked amazing in a long periwinkle maxi dress and white blazer (and super preggo). We kept crossing paths throughout the night. The magicians were really fun and charming, and we left laughing the whole ride home!

So Rando: Blake, ScarJo, Alba, Brenda Walsh

Bleh, I'm lacking blogging focus today. Let's do a general celebrity gossip round-up with no direction, mmkay?

Supposedly, the succubus known as ScarJo has sunk her claws into a new piece of man meat. Justin Bartha is said to be her Sean Penn rebound (OUCH) and their expressions speak volumes.

The Noxema girl is expecting baby number 2 and hubby Eric McSteamy Dane just checked himself into rehab. His vice is the pills and this isn't anything new. Can't be easy being pregnant with a baby and your man in rehab...hope he's feeling better soon.

Guess who's baaaack? Brenda! Shannen Doherty has landed her own reality show about her life.

 How? I have no idea.

Blake Lively is back to work on Gossip Girl and has reportedly split from Leo. We'll see.

 Still overwhelmed by how beautiful Dylan Lauren looked in her wedding dress designed by dad, Ralph.

 And totally underwhelmed (can you ever be just whelmed? NAME THAT MOVIE!) by Vanessa Minnillo's wedding look.  Her dress is probably fine, but her hair and makeup are a disaster. She looks melted!

Jessica Alba celebrated her cover shoot for Lucky magazine at a party in Pacific Palisades last night. She has really looked fantastic this entire pregnancy.

Much like Selma Blair who should give birth to a 2 year old any day now.

DON's Deal: Illusions Michael

Tonight, I'm going someplace magical. There will be plenty of, in the words of GOB Bluth, "Illusions, Michael. Tricks are what whores do for money." 

I'm going to the Magic Castle. This is a private clubhouse on a hill in Hollywood for people seriously committed to the preservation and display of magic. Formal wear is required and there is a sit down dinner while shows are performed. We have a reservation in the Parlor of Prestidigitation. And I can barely write this without cracking up laughing already.  But when you have access to something this unique, you have to go, right?

As long as they don't ask me to partake in audience participation, this should be a night to remember. After having a "cat" climb up in my face during Cats the Musical, I have a long standing fear of both sitting on the aisle and being forced into a show.  Just let me sip my cocktails in peace while you saw that girl in half, thanks!

Red Carpet MegaPost 2: Aniston, Hudgens, Saldana, Conrad

Jennifer Aniston mixes up her look between day (Valentino) and night while promoting Horrible Bosses in London.

 Vanessa Hudgens wore Farah Khan to the Captain America premiere. She did her best to hide her newly chopped hair and additional ten pounds, all in the name of a movie role. Zoe Saldana wore a Balmain resort suit. Not my favorite look of hers.

 Demi Lovato returned to the red carpet after a year long hiatus in a BCBG dress in West Hollywood.  She denied rumors that she is currently dating Ryan Phillippe. 

At a Wave for Change event, Vanessa let her short locks fly while posing with fellow cropped hair lover Hayden Panettiere.

Catching Up: Emma Stone

We knew this was her year, but expect to see Emma Stone everywhere for the next month.  The 22 year old has three summer movies for your enjoyment. At the premiere of Friends with Benefits, she wore a dramatic Giambattista Valli dress. I love that she takes calculated risks on the red carpet and almost always wins.

 Black lace makes me happy. Emma looks so elegant in Tom Ford at the LA premiere for Crazy Stupid Love. Not only does she get to co-star with a gorgeous Ryan (Gosling) in this, she is working with another (Reynolds) on an upcoming project.

 Adorable! Youthful yet polished for a GMA appearance for The Help. She mentioned that she hadn't read the book but her mom burst into tearing upon hearing she got the role because it is her favorite.

Emma linked up with her stylist via best friend Taylor Swift. Petra Flannery also styles well-dressed stars like Reese Witherspoon and Zoe Saldana. Winner winner!

Red Carpet MegaPost Round 1: Roberts, Olsen, Kunis, Kruger

Hooray! Tons of events to cover and lots of pretty clothes to look at.  I need to start here because it's kind of epic: how cute do the Olsen girls look?! Ashley, Mary Kate, and Elizabeth Olsen all gussied up for a party celebrating their line at Barneys in New York. Really loving Ashley's ensemble.

Back in LA, the PYTs were all looking summery and tan at a Miu Miu fete.  Camilla Belle wore a dress from their new collection which looks a little too frumpy with the updo and clunky heels.  Emma Roberts went with a gold Miu Miu dress that feels a little heavy for mid-summer.

 More Miu Miu on the always glam Diane Kruger and the serious looking Kate Mara.

  While it's a rare moment I'll clap for Herve Leger, I'm in awe of those that can pull off orange and Katie Cassidy looks phenomenal. She is on my most improved style list for the year!  Ashley Tisdale made a Peter Pan color chic in this adorable number from Asos.  Why she keeps pairing cream dresses with black heels is beyond me, but the toe bows on her Miu Miu heels are so cute I almost forgive her.

 Malin Akerman in a lotta Prada. Name that song! 

Emmanuelle Chriqui sported Plastic Island to the premiere of Friends with Benefits, while Mila Kunis also went red in Lanvin. 

High Flying Fashion: Miley, Charlize, Kim

Miley Cyrus heads out of town with her precious little pup.

Kim Kardashian jets out for her 12 hour stop in NY. Good thing she likes to fly!

Charlize Theron and Ryan Reynolds arrived home in Los Angeles last night. They did their best to not get photographed together by the paparazzi. Still think he has some really random taste in women!

NY Chicks: Kiki, Heidi, Michelle, Kim

Kirsten Dunst is spending her summer in New York.  She's not giving me much to work with here. It's not great, but it isn't her usual insanity either.

 Heidi Klum takes her bi-coastal brood out for a stroll. She's been posting about her summer running program with fellow celebrities over on her well-managed blog, Heidi Klum on AOL.

Michelle Williams dons a little Prada for shopping around NYC. 

Love Kim Kardashian's look while shopping at her Soho Dash shop with Lala? Her jumper is BCBGeneration, so it's probably under $100 at Macy's. Khloe and Lamar are in New York visiting his family when their car struck and killed a 15 year old motorcyclist. I don't believe they were driving.

ScarJo attends Zach Braff's Broadway show All New People starring Justin Bartha.  Watch out, their both single and ready to mingle!

Emma Roberts has found an appreciation for flats recently. I have an appreciation for that perfect blow out! I'm usually a summer ponytail kind of girl, but we are having such a magnificently mild summer (hovering around 80) that it's great weather for long summer hair!  Hilary Duff was a little more formally dressed for shopping in Beverly Hills. 

Friday night I supported a friend by attended the Outfest screening of Girl Shorts (aka short films made by women).  There was a nice variety of films, but this little camper was exhausted from a full work week followed by a Carmegeddon happy hour party. Jamie Lynn Sigler was featured in one film (she played a very hipster DJ) and she turned out to support the festival.  Hayden Panetierre is currently single (that never lasts long) and spending her solo time shopping in LA.

 Mila Kunis promoted Friends with Benefits in New York in one hot Elie Saab dress. Paris Hilton picks up some juice in Malibu. The guy that owns this company has all kinds of celebs talking, tweeting, and nonchalantly posing with juice here in LA.
