Where in the World is LiLo?

Not in jail.  Lindsay Lohan was not sent back to the slammer for failed drug tests, but does have to remain in rehab until January 3rd. Happy New Year indeed.  She did these photos for Russian Tatler and I think they are really gorgeous and such a better direction than the trashtastic spreads she's done the past few years. 

 Also looking blonde and fabulous is the loveable Rachel McAdams in InStyle.  Can't wait for her new film, seems like it can't be a bust.

Kim Kardashian Turns 30

Kim Kardashian celebrated her 30th birthday like any typical girl: a black tie gala, filming for her reality show, and doing press.  She wore a Zac Posen gown 2and some major jewels to the Angels Ball in NYC.  It's such a bummer when I celebs in amazing gowns that are stretched too tight across their thighs.  How can you even sit?  Would it have killed you to admit you need it just a smidge larger?  

Kim arrived to her fitting with Zac Posen wearing a gorgeous Camilla and Marc jacket that I covet big time. Too bad it costs about a grand.

I am so happy it is Friday since last weekend was spent wrapping up my business trip in Orlando!  I'm having a friend over for dinner tonight and the menu is mixed green salad with cranberries and homemade spiced pecans, homemade honey walnut rolls with homemade pumpkin apple butter, and homemade butternut squash soup!  Yup, I have a lot of work to do!  I just adore cooking so I'm looking forward to a night of chatting over wine while I prep away in the kitchen. Tomorrow is my friend Darcy's birthday dinner and party in Beverly Hills, yay! I have so much to do before next weekend so I will be running around like crazy getting things done.  What are your weekend plans?

PYTs Abroad: Claire, Emma, ScarJo, Camilla

Emma Roberts finally picks a great dress at the Escada store opening in Munich.  Her dress is Escada, obvio, and her shoes are Brian Atwood Wagner heels.  Claire Danes goes for a conservative look in a Prada dress while on the red carpet in London. Kind of a perfect dress for the holidays, no?

 Main Mango chick ScarJo wore the brand while attending a corporate dinner event in Spain.  Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez met up for dinner together at Jamie Oliver's new restaurant in Covent Garden.  Such a grown up night out for two PYTs.

 

 Camilla Belle makes her way to the Canadian set of Break Away, which she is filming with Rob Lowe. Nice to see her actually acting rather than just being her natural red carpet darling self.  LeAnn Rimes is currently in Canada for a gig at Fallsview Casino Resort.



Reunited and it Feels so Good: Nick and Jessica

Last night at my current favorite LA eatery Red O Jessica Simpson and her boyfriend turned up for dinner right around the same time her ex-husband Nick Lachey arrived with longtime girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo.  How would you like to have a run in dressed liked that?  She looks awful!  Vanessa on the other hand looks great.  Ouch!

Improvements: Kourtney Kardashian

I wonder what promoted Kourtney Kardashian's decision to veer away from her Kardashian staples of skinny pants, blazers, and low cut tops.  She has improved over her turban days (which her super chic stylist Monica Rose does not take credit for, thank goodness!) and moved on to some very different looks.  Which of these three is your favorite?

Loving Lethah: Olivia, Hilary, Blake,

It's sweat inducing, stiff, and oh so cool; leather is word this fall.  Olivia Palermo with her hunk of a bf wore a leather dress and coat to the Welcome to the Rileys premiere in NYC.  The accessories princess also wore her current favorite piece, her Mawi necklace, and a Kurt Geiger Fashionistas pumps. 

Blake Lively toughens up a girlie pink Christian Dior cocktail dress with a cropped leather jacket.  Hilary Duff chose a boxier cut while out at the Grove in LA. Nipped and cropped is my favorite look as it is the most feminine.

Blech, I so dislike Leelee Sobieski, but she pulls off the look well.  Are you sporting leather this fall?

Celebs Out in the Rain for CFDA Fashion Fund

Nicole Richie was the talk of the day with her Missoni dress (she must have froze!) and her shorter new 'do.  At the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists Celebration, held at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood yesterday, fashion loving celebs came out to toast the designers.  Rachel Zoe, who has still not confirmed the pregnancy, though rumors persist she's having a son (!), was there with some of her clients, including Eva Mendes (in Christian Cota) and Molly Sims (not pictured).  Rose McGowan looked lovely with the exception of her tights and I'm happy to see Mena Suvari has opted for some extensions (though that dress does zero for her).  Maria Sharapova even turned up.  Who gets your best dressed?

High Flying Fashion: Kate, Katy, Kim, and Tiz

Kate Hudson turned up at LAX with her boyfriend looking rocker chic and much better than she did at the Elle event.  Katy Perry and Russell Brand asked for privacy as they flew out of Heathrow to India, where they will be getting married this weekend.

 Ashley Tisdale, accompanied by her older sister, headed towards her flight out of LAX.  She wore a comfy Jamison Barrington sweater as she returned to the set of Hellcats in Canada.  Her boots are Sigerson Morrison, her bag is Gucci.  Also traveling in Canada was Kim Kardashian, wearing a fabulous Sass and Bide poncho with her favorite Fendi OTK boots.

AnnaLynne McCord has yet to perfect her own stylings.  She left town out of LAX.  Kelly Osbourne stayed bundled up after arriving in Heathrow. Clip on bangs?

Book Business with Hilary and LC

Lauren Conrad signed books at the Mall of America in Minnesota.  My dad worked in Minnesota for a few years not long ago and I would fly out to visit and pick out his temporary housing furniture, which was later gifted to me after his contract there wrapped.  Yeah, it was a sweet deal.  My point is that I've been to Minnesota several times and I really liked it; their zoo is awesome and we had a kickass time at a Saints game. 

 Hilary Duff made a stop at Barnes and Noble at the Grove, where LC and NicRic have already dropped by.  She is really looking great lately; I think married life suites her.  Below the jump is a pretty candid interview she did recently with Health in which she discusses her wedding workout plan and being a scary thin teenager.  She is quite mature for somebody who should be a senior in college.

Elle Party Dresses are White, Bright, and Down Right Inspiring

Last night Elle hosted their 17th annual Women in Hollywood party for their November issue.  The ladies really dolled up for the event with nearly all opting for anything but a little black dress.  Many of the honorees sported Calvin Klein dresses, including Kerry Washington, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Hilary Swank.  Even potentially pregnant (but still no comment) Rachel Zoe wore Calvin teamed up with her own line of QVC faux fur.

 Winter white was all the rage. Goldie Hawn, Elle Fanning (in an unexpected and precious Marchesa dress), Jenna Dewan and Sophia Coppola were all glowing in white, with nearly everybody pairing their dress with black heels. Take note those brave soles considering this trend for your holiday soirees!

 Brightening up the night in fuschia, pinks, plums, and a couple cases of orange and ice blue, Alyson Hannigan, Diane Kruger, Erika Christensen (!!! She finally got it right! That dress is fierce and just needs spanx and a hairdresser.), Michelle Trachtenberg, Anna Kendrick, and Molly Sims.

   

 The lone soldiers in black and metallics.  Shame on Rachel Zoe for allowing Kate Hudson to wear a Prabal Gurung dress that would make Barbie green with envy and allow her out with hair and makeup like that. What a waste!  

Ugh, Emma Roberts is so pretty and consistently chooses colors that wash her out! Another Jenny Packham failure IMO.

Seems like the nude trend is finally on hiatus until Spring. Are you dreaming of cocktail dresses for all your holiday fetes like me? I love a red dress, but am hoping to find a pretty champagne number to match one of my favorite cocktails.
