EW Pre Emmy Fete: Brooke, Kate, Anna, Michelle

Entertainment Weekly and Women in Film held a pre-Emmy party last night that brought out some of television's prettiest stars.  Newlyweds Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer were so happy together and she looked excellent in a red, one shoulder Preen cocktail dress. I would have worn nude shoes, but her hair and makeup are great. Anybody else surprised with how long the one shoulder look has lasted this time around?  I feel like that trend lasts exactly one season and then looks passe, but it's been going strong all year now.

Jessica Lowndes fails to impress me in her Louisa Beccaria LRD, but Kate Walsh looks dynamite in her Stella McCartney lace tank and red pencil skirt. To quote Jack on 30 Rock, "She wore red. You'd think it would clash with her hair, but it didn't!"

Melissa Joan Hart, bless her, she tries, but never comes off looking really chic. At least she's relatable, and I think that's her best chance at longevity, no?  Michelle Trachtenberg smelled a red carpet and came out to pose. I like that she wore a long dress as a change (maybe trying to fend off the comments about her weight?) and with the long loose hair, she looks really nice.

Short, black, and cut-out?  Katrina Bowden and Cat Deely said yes to that.  I'm not a big fan of either, but prefer Katrina's look.  Cat's Jenny Packham dress makes me think of something you can always find on a rack at Ross.

 Shim shimmery! Garcelle Beauvais picked a mini sequined dress with electric blue pumps.  The adorable Emmanuelle Chriqui wore a shiny nude one shoulder by David Meister. I love her wardrobe on Entourage (I'm a newbie to the show, but I personally need some more great fashion moments...even if it's a show about dudes).

Big House Bound: Paris

For awhile now, I've been wondering if Paris Hilton wasn't the next in line for a breakdown.  She was arrested this summer in South Africa on possession of marijuana, and last night she was arrested in Las Vegas on possession of cocaine. Officers stopped a car she was in and when they questioned the driver, the car reeked of weed so they searched them. Paris, 29, had cocaine in her purse, was arrested, and is now out on bail. Another smooth move by a Hilton!

Retail Therapy: Buffy Reunion

Michelle Trachtenberg and Sarah Michelle Gellar suited up for a little shopping together in Los Angeles. The former Buffy co-stars seem to have kept in touch over the years.  I sure would like to see SMG pick up some new work. Or maybe step out with her hubby and baby so we can see some pics!

High Flying Fashion: Olsens, SJP, Vanessa

Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen do the twin thing in menswear as they make their way to their flight.  Both are more focused on their fashion line than their acting careers at this point.  Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens return back to Los Angeles after a romantic getaway to Hawaii. Airport style, you aren't a friend of the Hudge.

Milla Jovovich begins her promotional tour for another Resident Evil film.  Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick return to New York after a couple's trip to Tahiti. Nice to see they are still happy together after all these years.

Kim Kardashian Announces Another Fashion Project

Kim Kardashian is teaming up with her sisters and Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant to develop a line of clothing for larger ladies.  She will also debut her QVC line in September.  To the LA Confidential party, she wore a Hannah Marshall nude dress with a Gianfranco Ferre belt, paired with Bavna earrings, Herve Leger clutch, and Loub heels. I do like her style, but I credit most of it to her stylist Monica Rose who selects her every outfit.  Would you wear a Kardashian fashion line? Are you interested in seeing their QVC debut or over it?

Where in the World is LiLo?

Out of rehab and making the rounds.  At a morning doctor's appointment, she looked very uncharacteristic in a white tank and a-line skirt. Then for a court appearance, she inapplicably chose jorts, flannel, and a no bra. Word is she was in tears as she exited the courtroom.

Glee Kids Have Some Fun

Mark Salling and Lea Michele really channel their inner teenagers while on the set of Glee.  Mark does some skateboaring, while she takes a ride on her beachcruiser.  Their newest guest star, Britney Spears, has wrapped her role and is enjoying time in Maui with her boyfriend, Jason.

Dior Beauty Luncheon: Jessica, LC, Eliza

The ladies turned up for lunch at the Sunset Towers yesterday.  Whitney Port went with her good friend Lauren Conrad.  Whitney wore a Camilla and Marc dress, Jimmy Choo shoes, a Jimmy Choo blag, a Tacori ring, a Scott Mikolay ring and Swarovski earrings. Lauren wore an Anthropologie dress, Loub heels, and a Chanel bag.

Eliza Dushku looked the party of a lunching lady. Meagan Good was chic and a bit tougher in a fedora.

Sharon Stone is a major Dior fan, and Jessica Simpson once again chose a dress (Dior) that was way too tight paired with sky high heels (YSL). I like her cat eye sunnies though.

New 'Do: NicRic

Nicole Richie went back to blonde and short!  She was itching to go back to blonde and made the transistion in a week. Her colorist said he used a KPak to protect her hair during the change.  I myself use KPak, which is a deep conditioner from Joico, and I love the results!

Jessica Alba Premieres Machete

Jessica Alba looks amazing in her Balmain dress and Loub booties at the premiere of Machete. I like her lighter locks right now.

Hot Couple of the Minute: Dianna and Alex

Dianna Agron, 24, has already split from Sebastian Stan and has hooked up with Alex Pettyfer, 20, her co-star in her upcoming film I Am Number Four. She brought her British beau to the set of Glee this week to show him around.

The Hills Ladies: KCav, LC, Lo, Steph, Audrina

Lauren Conrad spent two days getting laser hair removal at Kate Somerville's Melrose salon. She was in a a Blu Moon top and Miu Miu purse (day 2), and an Alternative sweatshirt with a Chanel wallet (day 1). She tweeted, "Gym clothes, no makeup, wet hair and leaving a painful laser hair removal apt... This is exactly when I want to find 15 paps around my car."

She also spent a rare night out with boyfriend Kyle Howard as she attended a friend's birthday party in Hollywood.

Lo Bosworth attended a French Connection soiree at the SoHo House in Los Angeles, while Stephanie Pratt attended a pre-Emmys party at a club in Hollywood.

Kristin Cavallari went retro as she left a hair appointment at Neil George.

Audrina Patridge is still on her Bongo promotional tour, currently hitting San Francisco.  As for Heidi Montag, rumors swirl as to what is going on with her and her husband.  Her latest claim is that she is taking out her breast implants because her surgery ruined her marriage (he didn't want her to do it and disliked caring for her in the aftermath). Some reports claim Spencer is in Costa Rica, while others say he has been living with Heidi in Malibu all summer long.

Newlywed Hilary Duff Out in LA

Following her honeymoon to Cabo, Hilary Duff has been settling back into life in Los Angeles.  She died her hair strawberry blonde, attended the Creative Emmys with her husband, and has been busy in meetings with her management team, ready to get back to work.  Of her intense workout program leading up to her wedding, she said, “I don’t care about being super thin; I’m 5 feet 2 inches, so if I eat pasta, the next day you can tell! I enjoy having a great dinner with friends or with Mike, so I’m usually not that strict. But when I am, I can see a really big difference, which I do now. I said to my sister, ‘After the wedding is over, I’m going to eat 16,000 calories!’

Her dress is David, her shoes Loubs. Out to lunch at Joan's with her hubby she toted a Fendi bag while wearing 7 jeans and a Splendid tank.

Hitched: Anna and Stephen

Anna Paquin, 28, and her True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer, 40, were married on Saturday night in Malibu with many members of their cast present.   Show creator Alan Ball, Ryan Kwanten (Jason), Sam Trammell (Sam), Rutina Wesley (Tara) and Carrie Preston (Arlene) were all in the house. This is the second marriage for Stephen and the first for Anna.  She wore a white halterneck gown (no biting jokes for her!) Following the ceremony, Stephen along with some guests jumped in the ocean to cool off.

DON's Deal: I Live

Hi everybody,

I've survived through a truly horrible long weekend and am finally starting to feel human again.  I had a great surgery, though I came out of anesthesia with a migraine, which I'm told is common, but didn't happen to me last time.  I was recovering beautifully until Friday afternoon when I quickly developed a 103 fever which lasted a full 24 hours, combined with a hacking cough and stuffy head.  I spent a lot of that time in the bathtub, until my neighbor downstairs came up and said my bathtub is leaking into her unit. Awesome. Saturday morning, our sweet family dog Rosie took a turn for the worst and my Dad flew home to help comfort my poor sister who was all alone. She had a really long, happy life and that is all I think about because it is so physically painful to cry I just can't do it.

Today, I'm weaning off the painkillers and spending a little more time out of bed (aka the Kleenex Graveyard). This week I will get more lab results and have a better idea of what comes next in my battle.  Thank you, thank you, a million times thank you for all the notes, they made me smile during some really dark moments!
