Real Housewife of NJ Has Super Shady Past

We see in the previews for next week's episode that the Manzo family dig up an out-of-print book, Cop Without a Badge, that exposes Danielle Staub, 46, the slutty divorcee on Real Housewives of New Jersey as a woman named Beverly Merrill. Below is more:

"According to the book, Merrill met the subject of Cop Without a Badge, a felon-turned-FBI informant named Kevin Maher, at a drug party in Miami in the ’80s. Their meeting came after she was released on $10,000 bail following an arrest on charges she was involved in the alleged kidnapping of a man who owed her drug dealer friend money. As a result, Merrill and her dealer friend were caught by police and charged with extortion, kidnapping and possession after they failed to collect a ransom from their victim’s father.
But with his police connections, Maher allegedly helped Merrill get a deal, and she pleaded guilty only to the charge of extortion. She was sentenced to five years probation, according to the report.

The book then goes on to say that Merrill wed Maher (he was married when they met) and attempted to start a family. But Merrill, who was dancing at the strip club Satin Dolls in Lodi, N.J., under the name Danielle, was not a suitable partner for Maher, and he left her.
The book also includes more sensational reports about Merrill’s aversion to wearing underwear, her drug use and sleeping with more than 1,000 men.

A public records search reveals that Danielle Staub did indeed go by the names Beverly Merrill, Danielle Maher and Beverly Maher.

Major Catch Up Session with The Hills Cast

As Spencer and Heidi prepare to film I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, the rest of the cast remains busy with other projects. I LOVE the second photo below, it speaks volumes. KCav began work filming The Hills by shooting a scene at Pinches Tacos in West Hollywood with her ex-boyfriend Brody Jenner, his gf Jayde Nicole, and her new castmates Lo Bosworth and Stephanie Pratt. No sign of Audrina. As for Whitney Port, she remains in New York, poorly dressed and working on her new season of The City.

Lauren Conrad is on the new cover of Cosmopolitan where she opens up about when she knew it was time to leave the show - after the Producers (not Stephanie) invited Heidi to her boat birthday party. “After the producers did that, I disappeared. If they were disrespectful, I was going to be disrespectful back. I told them, ‘You can call me in a week. Think about what you did.' "

And Paris Hilton spoke up for her boy toy Doug Reinhardt last night, saying he will never appear on The Hills again: "The show is, like, so lame and fake. He doesn’t even want to be a part of it. They make up relationships when they’re not there, and he just thinks it’s lame. I’ve never seen the show in my life. I have no idea what it’s about. But he just thought it was cheesy." He's now a producer on Paris' show, "My BFF - Dubai." Talk about lame and cheesy.

Mel Gibson confirmed on The Tonight Show that his girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, 39, is expecting their first child together. This will be his 8th and he joked, "I guess I'm Octo-Mel."

On his divorce he said, "My wife and I, our marriage ended three years ago and we've been separated ever since then. These things happen. It's unfortunate, it's sad, but you know she is an admirable woman – we still got kids together. We're friends. Look. When it's all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself. I'm to blame. If you're inclined to judge, put it here."

Soundbites: Jon and Kate on Divorce

This whole situation is sad, but in their own words, a divorce seems imminent. Do you guys still watch their show?

Kate:"I don't know...parents of multiples have, like, triple the divorce rate, and I was thinking we were gonna beat that. I don't know if I can say that anymore. Very swiftly, we turned into two different people, and that's just hard. I've tried for six months to figure out what the problem is, or remedy the problem. It's so complicated. Slowly, I've seen him almost resent the duties [of being a parent]. I know it's a lot to take care of eight kids. I'm traveling a lot, he's frustrated a lot. I think he's angry at me. He doesn't really feel great about me. Have I been hard on him for almost the last 10 years that we've been married? I would never deny that. I've always regretted it. Have I pushed him to this? I don't feel like I have. I feel like everyone is responsible for their own actions.”
Jon: "I think it was good for them [the kids] to see their mom and dad together in one place, even though it's been tough right now. Like I said, we will come together for our kids regardless of our relationship. We have to make a plan and settle jointly what we're going to do. There are good times and bad times and nothing is perfect."

Dear Paris:

This look is old and I'm sick of seeing you wearing the same tired headbands and dresses to every event every night of the week. If I must look at your pictures all the time, at least mix it up. Are you thinking of retiring anytime soon? Posing, partying, and sleeping with a new guy every 5 months or so for the past decade must be exhausting.

And your boyfriend hates you. Just look at his face. He's officially given up.
