Chris Brown Pleads Guilty, Avoids Jail

Chris Brown, 20, today pleaded guilty to felony assault charges in connection with the beating of Rihanna. He will be sentenced to five years probation and 180 days of community labor to be served in Virginia. He will also complete a year of domestic violence classes, pay fines, and must stay 50 yards from Rihanna unless they are at an industry event, in which case he must stay 10 yards (despite a request from Riri's lawyer to allow them to be near each other). The Judge stated, "Mr. Brown, I think it's commendable that you took responsibility for your conduct. I want Mr. Brown to be treated the same as any other defendant who would come into this court. That means something like Caltrans [trash pickup] or graffiti removal."
