Brit Updates

Well, Britney Spears' new album Blackout drops today and she seems pretty unaffected by it. Where she would normally be doing a publicity tour in anticipation of the drop, she spent last night at Winston's with Alli Sims. She was dressed in a short black halter dress, fishnets, sunglasses, brown extensions and an incomplete set of acrylic nails. Later she changed into a little pirate costume with the intention of dropping by the Virgin Megastore in Hollywood where fans were waiting for the midnight release of the album, but lack of parking and a media frenzy prevented her from actually getting in the store.

In other Britney news, she has filed a motion to end her bi-weekly random drug testing. She has begun her "Parenting without Conflict" course with Kevin Federline, with their first meeting being held at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Meanwhile, Britney's mom, Lynne, has written a memoir entitled, "Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World." It is being released by a Christian book publisher around Mother's Day 2008. She says it isn't so much a tell-all as the story of what fame does to a family.
