Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe have separated. Their rep released a statement this morning that says "We are saddened to announce that Reese & Ryan have decided to formally separate. They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time."
The couple have been married for seven years, with two children Ava and Deacon. They met at Reese's 21st birthday party.

This is aweful. I am SO sad
Reese and Ryan have had a lot of problems over the years. They have spoken openly about being in marital counseling. Frankly, they were both very young when they married and had kids and they are just now realizing their fame and potential. I'm sure their schedules are really hard on their marriage.
i am so sad. i love them and hope they can work this out.
Oh, I just feel like they will regret this later. I hope they can see past the late 20 growing stage years. So sad.
Boo Hoo! Even I, a person so not believing in hollywood marriages thought this couple would last...
