All Dolled Up: Aniston, Dunst, Lopez, Mara

Jennifer Aniston sports darker hair in head to toe Saint Laurent for the premiere of Life of Crime. Her ex Brad Pitt is in Europe where he tied the knot to Angelina Jolie 9 years after his divorce from Jen.
Jennifer Lopez sports a sweet little Valentino dress and Casadei Blade pumps in New Orleans as she promotes American Idol.

Emma Stone in Venice

A side-swept strawberry bob was new for Emma Stone as she promotes Birdman, where Michael Keaton plays a former superhero actor trying to reclaim  his glory by taking on a Broadway play. Sounds like a role he was born to play!
Her plunging Valentino tulle gown has all the volume we saw on the most popular Emmy dresses. She skimped on the jewelry and left her hair causal, which I think a dress this dramatic calls for. Thankfully, she found the right balance in makeup, looking fresh faced yet rosy.

Emmy 2014: So Much Red

Sarah Hyland is one petite lady in one humongous Christian Siriano skirt. The crop top helps balance out the proportion and keeps in young.
It was interesting to see her wear such bold, dark makeup and a top knot in a sea of barely made up faces and loose locks.
While I'd rather the top knot come down, I LOVE her big bow earrings. How 80's fabulous are these?

Emmy 2014: Best Dressed

Julia Roberts isn't getting a fair shake for her Emmys dress IMHO. Her short Elie Saab dress was so flattering to her figure, such an awesome shade of blue, and a totally interesting texture. It's been ages since we've seen Julia look this confident, let alone wear a short dress. I absolutely loved it. You'll see several ladies on my favorites list that I've seen elsewhere on the worst dressed, but I'm speaking up for the "fashion underdogs".
And I loved her hair, too. I immediately was texting with Kadi, our shared colorist, about what an awesome job she did and how her day went. I'm so fancy, you already know. Seriously, though, She looks so happy and I was thrilled for her.
The second best dressed Julia, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, was a total knockout in a custom Carolina Herrera. At 53, she has never looked better.
I loved the buckle details on the back, they worked in a way Claire Danes' red belt detail didn't. And her blowout was so outstanding, I couldn't stop talking about it.

VMA 2014: Vintage Gold

The VMAs kicked off a big week in Hollywood last night (Emmys are tonight!) and there was lots of nostalgia for those of us in the TRL era. Katy Perry decided to poke fun at the most infamous (and perfect) red carpet couple of all time with rapper Riff Raff.
In many ways, this was a vintage VMA. We saw Jennifer Lopez time warp back to straight, blonde hair and nearly naked dresses better than she did fifteen years ago. Now THAT is impressive.

One more just so you can see how fit she had to be from every single angle to wear this.
Joan Smalls is one of the most modest of the night in a micro mini beaded Balmain dress with a poncho top.

Somebody else wore a very similar Balmain look, maybe backwards? Kim Kardashian (West) is looking really fit though.
This outdoor sun wasn't so great for the stage makeup everybody was working.
Kim has been making loads of appearances, especially with her youngest siblings. I'm guessing she is building social currency back up before hibernating with baby number 2. You know Kendall and Kylie would rather be there with Khloe. And while we are at it, why is Kim even at a music awards show sans Kanye? He's too big for it, but not she?
Beyonce put on one big performance after walking the red carpet in Nicolas Jebran. This look is more Met Gala than MTV, but Beyonce can do whatever she wants. Another nod to vintage VMA with the return of her huge hair and massive quantity of extensions.

Her custom Tom Ford bejeweled body suit was incredible. She allowed herself much more clothing than most of her dancers. It was great to see her light up at the sight of her little girl.
Blue Ivy, aka mini Jay Z, was getting down dancing in her seat like the baby diva she is! Another fab shot of her surprising her Dad with her dancing here.
Loving seeing the Destiny's Child ladies in the house. Kelly Rowland was very pregrant in a shimmering blush Kaufmanfranco gown. She wore a crown braid and big Lorraine Schwartz jewels for extra sparkle.
Michelle Williams was extra vintage in that dark smoky eye. I love her giraffe print Roberto Cavalli dress, especially with all the gold accessories including that rad Jimmy Choo clutch.
Six months after baby Apollo was born, Gwen Stefani returned to her extensions (swapping plutonium for a more yellow gold look) and sported a Barbie pink L.A.M.B. ensemble for her VMA red carpet walk.
Keeping in mind the VMAs are a place where bold, youthful, and above all sizzling hot looks reign supreme, who made a return to the red carpet of their younger days bringing sexy back?

Sin City 2 Premiere LA: Alba, King, Chung, Dawson

At the Sin City: A Dame to Kill For premiere in LA, we are finally starting to see a transition into fall colors. I've been combing all my favorite sites online (and even did some shopping in person this weekend, a real rarity for me) and I've been finding lots of excellent pieces. I'm a little too excited about it all. At the end of this post, I'll show you some of what's on it's way in the mail to me.

Jessica Alba either doesn't age or just gets better looking, doesn't she? She wore a cobalt sweetheart Zac Posen dress (similar here) and Giuseppe Zanotti mules (in nude here) to the premiere last night.
Jaime King wore a sleek bun and gold trimmed Versace gown with Monquie Lhuillier mules.

HOFPA Banquet: Bell, Washington, Fanning, Vergara

Expectant mom Kristen Bell shimmers in Andrew Gn at the HOFPA grants banquet.
Kristen tweeted that Kerry Washington would be her second choice in a partner (after husband Dax Shepard). Kerry looks incredible in Mary Katrantzou Resort and blue cap Saint Laurent Paris pumps. A pretty pink pout and lifted pony for an extra girlie look.

Creative Emmys 2014: Bellamy, Julia, Kate, Troian

Over the weekend, the 2014 Creative Emmys brought out Hollywood stars after a summer hiatus on black tie events. Nikki Reed who is moving on from her divorce by dating Ian Somerholder attended in revealing Versace dress. Love the color, bumming on the lack of jewels and lipstick.
Kate Mara wears her bob slicked back with her sunny Dior wool dress. I wouldn't pick this myself, but I like the playfulness of it. The hair...I just have the hardest time with this look unless the gal is posing in a swimming pool with her arms crossed on the edge.
Troian Bellisario was one of my top picks from the event. Very black swan in an illusion lace top and tulle skirt. She walked the red carpet with Suits fiance Patrick J. Adams.
Her soft curls are pretty without being over done.

Focus on Fashion: Jessica Alba

How chic is Jessica Alba? She's been on the road promoting Sin City 2 and is looking fresh, tailored, and ready for autumn!  She's wearing an Alice and Olivia Richley blouse with Max Mara Wide Leg Trousers (similar wide leg trousers for under 100 here), sky high Chloe wedges, and a Louboutin bag.
She went for prints on prints and a bold brow in Antonio Berardi resort and Brian Atwood silver platforms.
Pale pink lips, winged liner, and a high pony make this super girlie and sweet. I'm still working on IDing her favorite new clutch.
